We wanted to express how pleased we were with the entire experience of Muddy Boots Walking Holidays.  You were so lovely to correspond with and very helpful. All the inns were nice, and meals were great.  Most of all, the walks were spectacular.  We encountered a few people on some of the walks but there was plenty of solitude where we could just enjoy the views.

We will definitely want to take another trip with you since this experience was so enjoyable.  Thank you again for helping plan this with us.  We have wonderful memories and pictures of our trip.

Just to let you know how much I enjoyed my " Muddy Boots" holiday. The walks were great and as you said the climbs were well worth  it for the fantastic views. The notes and map were good. I didn't get lost!  And I don't know how you did it, but you turned on the ideal weather as well.

I will let anyone who wants a Yorshire holiday know to contract you. Back on the plane in a couple of days on my way home to Australia with the best memories.

THE WHARFEDALE RAMBLE WALKING HOLIDAY

We are back home on Vancouver Island now.  We had an amazing time in the Yorkshire Dales.  It was the highlight of our walking adventures while in the UK!  The scenery was spectacular and even the weather cooperated for us. 

We appreciate all you did for us in organizing such a wonderful walking holiday.  You were so responsive and helpful.  We were particularly impressed with your route instructions. Having the routes laid out on the OS maps app was also very useful and helped to clarify some directions for us, when we had doubts.  

The accommodation was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.  Our luggage was always waiting for us when we arrived. We also want to thank you for the gift box.  The food treats were delicious and I look forward to using the bath salts. The hot/cold water bottles are great!  What wonderful memories they will bring back for us.

We do hope that we will be able to avail ourselves of your services again!

WENSLEYDALE AND ITS WATERFALLS WALKING HOLIDAY

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for organising our holiday. We had an amazing time in Yorkshire last week and the weather was very kind to us (which may have helped just a little bit)!

Your detailed instructions for each walk were invaluable and extremely easy to us, even for us novices. The walks themselves were fantastic and the area so beautiful. The tips about places to stop off for a coffee or snack and additional information about the places we passed through was also very useful. 

The hotels you booked for us were great,  especially the Stonehouse Hotel where the staff were so friendly and kind. We would certainly consider going to them again in the future. The breakfasts at both hotels were superb.

All in all we had a fabulous time and will certainly consider using your company again and/or recommending it to friends.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SOUTHERN DALES AND WHARFEDALE WALKING HOLIDAY

I can’t thank you enough for all your help with our trip. It was a trip of a lifetime – it exceeded our expectations, in all ways. You thought of every detail, your directions were spot-on, and we loved every minute – we were especially grateful to each have an extra water bottle on our hikes! – it got warm on several of the trails, and we were glad to have plenty of water.

We have talked up our trip to our friends since returning and we hope you will be hearing from some of them. We’d love to return to Yorkshire, and we’ll be sure to reach out if/when we do.

BESPOKE YORKSHIRE DALES WALKING HOLIDAY

Helen provided a bespoke hiking trip through the Yorkshire Dales, which turned out to be a fantastic 5 days walking through some beautiful country. Nothing was too much trouble for Helen, all of our changes were accommodated, a nice welcome pack was provided, extra walk suggestions were provided and hand annotated maps were provided. I could go on. Suffice to say it was the best service I have ever received from any company.

We've just had a fantastic holiday thanks to the super package you have put together. Of course, it was fantastic because it is a beautiful and interesting part of the world, but the organisation and attention to detail that Muddy Boots provided was superb. The accommodation was excellent with all the hosts being so friendly and welcoming. All the information and delightful goodies were so appreciated - especially the waterproof map with our particular routes marked out! So thoughtful. We also realised how carefully you had chosen the routes, from the web of routes available, to give us a wonderfully diverse itinerary. You will probably laugh, but the first day with the sun shining and so many things to see, we worked out that our average speed was one mile an hour!

I am sure that we both will be energised by our happy holiday for quite a while! So thank you very much.

A MEANDER THROUGH SWALEDALE WALKING HOLIDAY

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our Meander through Swaledale last week. There was so much to enjoy with this holiday and we wanted to thank you both for everything you did to make it memorable. The standard of communication, choice of itinerary, selection of accommodation and attention to detail were all outstanding. This was our first ever 'proper' walking holiday and it certainly won't be our last. Indeed, Ros is already eyeing up your options for Wensleydale!  Finally, special mention must be made for the BEST EVER walking guides we have ever come across. We loved the detail and clarity of these - so easy to follow and so packed with interesting local information. And we didn't get lost once! Brilliant.

Everything has been terrific and we have really appreciated your attention to details.  We have done a couple of other similar self-guided walks in other areas and we must say that your printed route descriptions on water proof paper, with photos of key areas, were BY FAR the BEST we’ve ever experienced.  It felt like someone was right there going along with us explaining and giving section by section directions.  Well done and appreciated!  The inns were delightful, comfortable, and perfect for this trip.  We just wish we had a little more time here this trip, but we had a terrific taste of The Dales and would love to return.

Just wanted to write a review of our trip to Yorkshire. Every detail was as planned , the goody box on arrival at Middenham was delightful and map plus route notes were excellent , so too the extras.

All our accommodation was superior to other walking companies we have used, delicious choice of foods to fuel our exercise.

The folk that we met along the way were pleasant and happy to chat, we saw hares in abundance and curlew, great!

So thank you at Muddy Boots for the planning of our trip, we shall definitely use you again.

The holiday was everything we had hoped for and more! Starting with 2 nights and a circular walk in Malham was a great way to settle into the rhythm of the holiday before setting off on the walks to the onward locations. And it was great to know that everything was arranged and arrive to find the holiday pack with the walking notes, maps, bottles and thoughtful souvenirs ready for us, and find our luggage waiting for us at each new stop we arrived at.

Having had some difficulty finding a walking break that took us enough of a distance and fitted with the time we had and our preferred amount of walking, it was a breath of fresh air to be met by the positivity, flexibility, attention to detail and thoughtfulness of Helen from Muddy Boots. No question or request was too difficult or too demanding and she went out of the way to provide information including the OS walking routes to help me be confident of the right choice of break and adaptations to it. Thank you!

We had such a great time, thank you so much for all of the work that you put into making these walking tours really enjoyable. We had such a great time and learned a lot about the Yorkshire region. As has been our previous experience, we really enjoyed the trip. Fantastic walking, routes are extremely well planned and varied terrain. We walked along paths we never would have found for ourselves. Helen understands what we want from a walking holiday and is able to suggest routes and places to stay that suit.

Muddy Boots provides excellent route notes with clear instructions and interesting points of interest. Our favourite thing about the trip was having the time to walk and talk together in stunning countryside and fresh air. We have recommended Muddy Boots to a number of friends and family and are looking forward to trying their new Lake Distrct routes soon!

BESPOKE FULLY GUIDED WALKING HOLIDAY

Our hiking trip was wonderful! I'm still struck by how peaceful it was, listening to the birds sing, watching the ewes with their little lambs, most days there was a river near by.

Matt and Helen planned a trip for us to see the best the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Matt was our guide for the week, a first for their business. I really appreciate that he took time away from his family for us. We learned to much about the area as he walked through with us, the history, the politics, about everyday life. Looking back, it was enchanting, which might sound a little silly, but I think it fits. It wasn't all a stroll in the park, we did have a couple days with challenges, but we wanted that too. And we met them head on.

Oh! My! We stayed in some nice places! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was wonderful. The villages we stayed in were beautiful! It's hard to pick a best thing about the trip. The peacefulness. The people. The food. The beauty of the land. The exercise and fresh air.

The holiday was absolutely fabulous! It rained and was incredibly muddy, but I loved every minute of it, and felt like I got to switch off completely :)

 I thought the routes you suggested were spot on. I wouldn't have been brave enough to choose them myself, but the directions were easy to follow, and very accurate. I was able to focus on the walk rather than map reading, and that really made a huge difference for me. 

 The places were great too. Thanks for sorting out such a great trip, and I will definitely be booking another one!

“We wanted to walk in a new area and rest up and eat well in cosy pubs. Helen understood exactly and this route was perfect for us. Loved not having a car. Helen took care of all the details - taxis, welcome packs, booked us dinner in the pubs. The route notes were very clear. We learnt we could trust them completely and the map was great. I liked the handy size of the route directions and having them printed on thicker card too. The best thing about our trip was the independence but with the confidence that all the details were curated. I didn’t fret about logistics at all. The route was great. We hardly saw anyone else and loved being out in the fells.”

“Not sure how you managed to arrange sunshine every day but thank you! However even in less clement weather it would be beautiful. It all went very smoothly. Parking both cars at Linton wasn’t a problem and the taxi driver who brought us back was helpful and chatty.”
