accommodation for your Lake District walking holiday
We have chosen fantastic inns and small hotels for you to stay in while on one of our self-guided walking holidays in the Lake District. As we live and work in the area, these are all places that we enjoy spending time in - for the friendly atmosphere, stunning locations, great food, lovely views and, most of all, a well-earned drink at the end of a long walk!
Below are specific examples of the accommodation we regularly work with on our routes. If rooms are not available for the dates you would like to travel, we do also work with other accommodation in similar locations so should be able to make the trip fit your requirements.
The Heart of Lakeland
First base (typically nights 1 and 2) - The Wateredge Inn, Waterhead, Ambleside - Housed in converted fishermen’s cottages, the Wateredge Inn has a stunning location, right on the northern tip of Lake Windermere. Its large lakeshore beer garden is the perfect place to enjoy a drink after a walk or, for the colder months, the spacious bar and restaurant has plenty of cosy nooks and crannies to warm up in!
Second base (typically nights 3 and 4) - The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Great Langdale - a former farmhouse now a popular hotel in a stunning location with fantastic views from both its rooms and spacious gardens, which make a great place to enjoy a well-earned drink on a sunny day.
